Seed Of Chucky, It’s Not As Bad As You Think

In 1988 a little horror movie called Child’s Play was unleashed upon the world. It starred a Cabbage Patch doll wannabe running about and murdering people and it was goddamn amazing. I can still remember my first time seeing it and being terrified by this little killer doll that was relentless as hell. The series recently got a revival with the surprisingly amazing Curse Of Chucky that came out in 2013 and the upcoming Cult Of Chucky is looking to be similarly dark in it’s tone. However, there is one movie in the franchise that always gets pointed to as the lowest point in the series, that being the fifth movie of the franchise Seed Of Chucky.

Personally, I have nothing but good memories regarding this movie. I think it’s one of the funniest sequels that a horror franchise has ever come up with and one of the best self-referential films in recent years. Yet every time I see an article online about the series there is, inevitably, a reference to Seed and how it almost ruined the franchise. I disagree with that idea and I want to try and explain why it’s a valid sequel that we shouldn’t just discount. For starters, let’s dispel a rumour

‘Don’t Breathe’: The Art Of Filming In The Dark

Recently, I had the joy of seeing the 2016 hit film Don’t Breathe. While I may be a year late to the party, the film was everything that’d been promised and more — a compelling villain, a great ensemble cast and an almost constant feeling of tension. It’s a masterpiece of filmmaking with a truly compelling story. It also has, without a doubt, the most amazing scene filmed in complete darkness that I’ve seen in a long time.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3: Speculating Who’s In The Cast

Uploaded to MoviePilot July 18th 2017, AKA Months before the announcement. This was a prediction when I wrote it, some of them are wrong but still putting it up so I can keep it. This means that when I say things like “It’s almost a given All Stars 3 is going to happen”, this was back when we didn’t have confirmation. Also some links I used are dead now so I’ve deleted them.

2017 has been a fantastic year for RuPaul’s Drag Race. Season nine aired to the highest ratings ever, season 10 was confirmed to be happening with one queen already locked in and on July 13th they were nominated for a staggering eight Emmy Awards, including Best Host and Best Reality Competition. It’s also gotten one for Best Casting and that’s what we’re going to talk about today, because, after the success of season nine, it’s almost a given that All Stars Three is going to happen.

‘Baby Driver’ And The Importance Of Diegetic Sound

Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver is without a doubt one of the most anticipated films of the year. It’s a stylish action film about a teenage boy with tinnitus, who’s also a getaway driver for a rotating band of thieves. In order to block out the constant ringing in his ears, he listens to music on his iPod, which is apparently making people nostalgic for an item that’s still available pretty much anywhere.

One of the things about this movie that’s getting everyone so hyped about this film is it’s soundtrack, specifically how it is perfectly integrated with the stylized action on screen. The sound is an incredibly important aspect of the film’s success, so let’s explore how diegetic sound makes Baby Driver stand out from the crowd.

6 ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Lip Syncs That You’ve Probably Forgotten

Every fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race has a list of his or her favourite lip syncs, it’s just how we roll. We all have that one performance that we will watch over and over again on an endless loop while screaming “YAS QUEEN” at the top of our lungs and demanding that both singers stay. These lists are long and varied, but there are a few standouts. Recent additions to the list being the “Shut Up And Drive” lip sync from All Stars 2 or the “So Emotional” lip sync from the recent Season 9 finale.

13 Facts About The Friday The 13th Series That’ll Make You Scream

In 1980 the film Friday the 13th was unleashed into cinemas, pushing the horror genre into high gear and inspiring a legion of filmmakers to give the genre a try. Filmed in an actual summer camp on a $550,000 budget the film went on to make almost $60 million at the box office and started one of the most iconic franchises of all time. It’s spun off into comics, TV series, books, toys. It is the essential slasher franchise of its time and with the recent release of the Friday the 13th Video Game, I think it’s only right to go through this iconic series and throw up a few bits of trivia you may or may not know about this beloved series. Fair warning, a large amount of this comes from the recent documentary Crystal Lake Memories which is absolutely amazing, it’s also about 7 hours long. So guess who saw Transformers 5: The Last Knight? That’s right, people who suffered. I was one of them and I have come to the conclusion that I’m sure many people came too ages ago. Michael Bay has absolutely no idea how films are supposed to work. I’m not just talking about story or concept, films like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Pearl Harbor proved that long ago. For me, it took Transformers 5 to catch onto the fact that, in general, he has no idea what on earth he’s doing just in terms of the fundamentals of cinema.

Editorial: What Can DC Learn From Marvel

With the recent release of Justice League, DC has proven what a lot of film fans have known for a long time… they aren’t that good at this cinematic universe thing. They’re actually pretty bad at it, they’re not quite at Dark Universe levels but they’re certainly not the gold standard that they want to be. They want to be Marvel, they want to be able to throw out Movie after Movie after Movie and get critical praise out the wazoo for every single one but they can’t, and they won’t until they learn the lessons that Marvel got right from the start. Lesson’s I’ll now just state explicitly so DC can copy my notes and pass this cinematic class.

NOTE: I’m spoiling stuff for Justice League, Batman V Superman, Civil War, The Avengers 1&2, Agents of Shield and Buffy the Vampire Slayer… it’ll make sense soon.

Also, tiny bit rusty at these so apologies if it’s not good.
